These cute trinket boxes are so easy to make! they are great for party favors or gifts. Fill them with candy or hair bows or silly bands. Use your imagination. The possibilities are endless!Step 1:
These cute silver tins can be purchased online from Ebay or Etsy. They are Altoid size tins. I
purchased a bunch a couple of years ago for a project and had some left over. I was bored today so I thought hmmm, what can I do with these?

So I went to my supply room. The big room upstairs filled with junk and all of my crafting things that I have collected over the years. I found some ribbon, glue, acrylic paint, scissors, and some old nail polish. (Hey, thats ingenuity right there!) Along with a few other things from my stash.

Step 2: Paint
I added a coat of the blue lagoon nail
polish to the top of the tin. As it turns out nail enamel isn't the easiest thing to paint with. For some reason it dries a lot quicker on solid surfaces than it does on nails! It worked better when I poured it on and brushed it across. After I let it dry a few minutes, I mixed the dark yellow with a
little red and made the center for my sunflowers.

Step 3: Petals
I started the petals by using strokes of the light yellow all the way around. After that dried I went in between the light yellow with the darker yellow. Next I put a few red strokes in between and then went over them again with the darker yellow allowing time for drying between coats.

4: Stems and Ribbon
After the flowers were done I added the stems with acrylic paint and then glued grossgrain ribbon around the bottom of the tin.
I fashioned a bow out of a little of the ribbon and used a brad in the center. I glued the bow over the area where the ends of the ribbon met.

Final Touches:
When I was looking for paint I came across these sticky letters and thought they might be cute. I added them to the top of the box, but you could also use a paint pen to write with, or just leave it off all together.
So here is the finished project:

I filled this one with my daughters

Jewelry, but like I said, you can use
these for anything....gift card holders, coin purse, credit card holder, party favors....the list goes on.
You can also use any supplies you have around the house. If you don't like to paint you can cut out pictures and glue them on. You can use buttons and ribbons! Be creative and have fun with it!
